Where is prostate gland located?

The prostate gland is located in the lower urinary tract under the bladder, and its rear part is adjacent to the rectum wall. The urethra, through which urine leaves the body, goes through the center of the prostate. If the prostate is enlarged, it squeezes the urethra more tightly and presses on the bladder, which are the most common causes of urinary problems (e.g. a weak urine stream or frequent urge to urinate).
