What are the most common prostate disorders?

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)

BPH is the most frequent prostate problem that affects almost every second man 50+ years old. It results in an increase of the prostate volume that presses on the urethra. This pressure causes urinary disorders whose intensity and frequency however do not always depend on the volume of the prostate. Click here for more information.

Prostatitis

Prostatitis, or inflammation of the prostate, is a complex condition usually observed in younger men. It is differentiated into acute and chronic forms where chronic pelvic pain syndrome is the most common form.

Prostate cancer

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancer in men but with very high probability to survive. Timely (as of the age of 40) and regular preventive examinations are therefore recommended given the fact that symptoms in the early stage of the cancer can resemble BPH.
